Michael Greer, of Greer Studios, is our principle iconographer on the walls of the temple. We chose to pattern the style, coloration, and placement of the iconography after what was observed first-hand at Dionysiou Monastery of Mount Athos. The scene of “Christ’s Descent into Hades” was taken from the Monastery of Chora, near Constantinople (Istanbul). To date approximately 50% of the walls and ceiling are completed, and we trust to continue throughout the whole of the temple as finances so enable.
Local artist and iconographer Encho Avramov is the primary designer and “writer” of the icons in the iconostasis, as well as many panel icons adorning the walls of the temple, Encho works in traditional egg-tempora, carefully matching the “style” of the icons to the rest of the temple.
